In a world where the speed of consumption eclipses reflection and the pursuit of individual gain prevails over collective well-being, the most critical ideas are often relegated to silence.
The interests that dominate the economy, along with hyperstimulating information flows, frequently lead to inaction, suppressing essential actions.
Four artists explore the current polycrisis, shedding light on what lurks behind a consumerist society that prefers to ignore the real costs of the progress narrative in exchange for fleeting comfort.
Fiona Morrison – (Encamp 1970)
Resources are running out.
The red line serves as the backbone of the three installations Fiona presents in la Peixera at Fundació Valvi. One of them is dedicated to water, featuring a collaborative installation of thirteen stoneware vessels. Here, the viewer becomes an active participant, engaging in the management and care of the piece and water.

Quim Massana – (Lleida 1966)
In this exhibition, he presents a selection of photographs of silenced walls, part of a collection he began in 2001 with his friend Carlos Segura in Chicago, and has continued expanding to this day. This body of work forms the starting point of the exhibition—the initial axis—where silenced ideas gradually find their voice as the viewer moves through the space.
Michelle Wilson – (eGoli/Johannesburg1973)
Capitalism dehumanizes.
Michelle presents four installations created from reclaimed materials, with a meticulously crafted aesthetic and a deeply considered conceptual approach. Her works deliver powerful messages about capitalism and the exploitation of people and nature by the powerful elite. This is intellectual and activist art at its core.

Mike Duff – (Ktunaxa/Sparwood 1979)
Nothing is what it seems.
Mike Duff’s works are intense and striking. He presents four solar panels that exploded long before their intended lifespan at his home, which he then manipulated and transformed into clear visual statements. Each piece served as a form of personal art therapy in response to his frustration and perceived powerlessness in navigating the challenges of the polycrisis on a journey beyond sustainability towards achieving a regenerative and just society.
